Key areas of our service provision

CQC Readiness and Mock CQC Inspections

CQC has changed their way of working while still retaining the safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led domains they have now replaced the familiar Key Lines of Enquiry with Quality Statements.

  • Does this seem daunting to you?
  • Do you need help preparing your staff for inspection?
  • Do your staff need training?
  • Or maybe you need help pulling together evidence.

We can help by working with staff on site or remotely to ensure you are CQC ready and be with you throughout the preparatory season and beyond.

We can also provide support by undertaking a Mock CQC Inspection of your service. Our inspections provide a thorough review of your service against the new single assessment framework using the Quality Statements, providing assurance and highlighting any areas of concern. As independent consultants, we are able to review services from a different perspective, which those who are involved in the day to day management and running of the service may miss.

You will receive a report at the end of the inspection, with a clear action plan, which we can support you through as you look to attain a Good or Outstanding rating.

Clinical Governance support

Clinical governance can sometimes seem daunting.

  • Have you got the right staff in place?
  • Do you need help getting your processes in place, updated or embedded?
  • What are your communication systems?
  • Do they work?
  • What lines of defence do you have in place?
  • How is your resilience?

Whatever your specific issue, we are here to help.

Incident review and analysis

  • Do you have a backlog of investigations that need to be reviewed and closed, pulling together and appropriately cascading lessons learned?
  • Are you spending too much time getting information on the system, rather than reviewing it?
  • Are you able to give assurance that the incidents have been thoroughly reviewed and appropriate actions are in place?

We have significant experience in this area, providing continued support to help with your incident management through review of incidents, reporting around incidents and learnings from incidents.

Review of Risk Registers

How risk aware are you and how are you able to demonstrate your risks are well articulated and are under control?

We can help with reviewing and updating your risk register, in addition to ensuring risk registers become ‘live’ documents to support clinical and business decisions.

Investigations - clinical or operational

We have experience with undertaking both clinical and operational investigations and can also help with review of investigations.

We help to pull out lessons learned and enable staff to confidently put in place systems and processes to ensure safe and effective practice.

Policy support

  • Are your policies up to date?
  • Do they align with the latest regulatory guidance and best practice?
  • Do your staff understand them?
  • Do you need help with writing new policies?

We can help either review existing policies or support with writing new clinical policies which are clear, ensuring that policy requirements are understood and implemented.

Action planning

  • Do you need help with action planning?
  • Are your actions up to date?
  • Do your team give you assurance that appropriate actions are in place and those actions are being addressed in a timely manner?

We can support your organisation in developing robust, comprehensive action plans which pull together actions from external and internal reviews, providing assurance to Directors that quality and safety standards are being met.

Making sense of the data

  • Do you spend a lot of time gathering data but not sure what it is telling you?
  • Do you know how can you use your data to benchmark and demonstrate good practice?
  • Are you tracking and analysing any trends identified and how is that helping you to demonstrate that your processes are safe and effective?

Interim clinical support

Do you need any support with interim management, but it isn’t the right time to employ additional resources.

We could help with either hands on or remote short-term support and extend this to ongoing review if that meets your needs.
