We have extensive senior experience in leading investigations across different areas of businesses and working with management at all levels, including Executive Teams and Non-Executive Board members.
Our director has led many confidential investigations, both in her previous roles as Head of Group Audit and Group Freedom to Speak Up Guardian.
Our Quality Assurance and Clinical Risk Specialist has prepared many Root Cause Analyses and is a GMC Approved Care Investigator.
Our Senior Internal Audit Specialist is also a recognised Local Counter Fraud Specialist.
There are some key criteria for such investigations which can sometimes be overlooked. This can be due to lack of resource available to undertake a thorough and robust review at short notice, or time pressure of the individual nominated due to other commitments arising from the role they have in the organisation.
From our personal experience, such investigations have better outcomes if they are:
- carried out in an independent, impartial and objective manner and they are not clouded by the investigator’s own opinion of the situation or their role in the organisation which may be compromised by the issue being investigated
- undertaken by someone at a senior level, who is well respected by business, regional and corporate managers and directors
- undertaken by someone who has time to commit to a robust investigation
- provided using a consistent approach
- undertaken by someone who will challenge and work with senior managers to ensure that concerns are listened to and action is taken to drive improvement
Confidentiality underpins all of our investigations and we will discuss our findings with the relevant company representative and provide you with a comprehensive investigation report at the end of our work.
